does this sound like a scam because i just got an ask saying “Hi! I hate having to ask for help, but without it what I'll do  .I have no where to go and i am asking for any kind of help for my daughter treatment diagnosed with sickle cell. but the worst were the THREE strokes to the brain. Kindly send donation and share if you're able🙏”

i am worried about scams on here im not saying its fake but i don’t want to boost a scam by accident

they also followed me too so it most likely is a scam

kyra45 answered:

Their blog was made yesterday, shared random posts, and is spamming asks to random strangers. I won’t outright say scam, but it looks extremely suspicious considering that their blog is pretty new and they have no original posts besides the aid post.

If anyone’s curious, search the ask in tumblr search and you’ll see it’s been sent to multiple random strangers and what the blogs name is.

kyra45

And as I always state, not everyone asking for help is a scammer. Unfortunately scammers are known to steal photographs and make up stories that will have a flaw if you scrutinize it more. Sometimes these scammers will come here from twitter using someone’s real story as their own.

Scammers will pretend to be anything to get aid. They’ll target certain tags someone used to find blogs to spam asks to. Scammers will do whatever it takes to get as much attention as they can while preventing legitimate people from getting aid. I always advise caution if the asks sent come from accounts that are brand new and randomly found you. After all, a brand new blog shouldn’t find you unless they were watching the notes of trending posts/tags.

But among everything else, just take caution if you get asks like this and always check the blog first.

Pinned Post I JUST got this scam if you're a blog who rb's donation posts ALWAYs check this kind of shit signal boost donation scam

Send me to Mars with party supplies before next august 5th

thebaconsandwichofregret

No guys you don’t understand.

The soil testing equipment on Curiosity makes a buzzing noise and the pitch of the noise changes depending on what part of an experiment Curiosity is performing, this is the way Curiosity sings to itself.

So some of the finest minds currently alive decided to take incredibly expensive important scientific equipment and mess with it until they worked out how to move in just the right way to sing Happy Birthday, then someone made a cake on Curiosity’s birthday and took it into Mission control so that a room full of brilliant scientists and engineers could throw a birthday party for a non-autonomous robot 225 million kilometres away and listen to it sing the first ever song sung on Mars*, which was Happy Birthday.

This isn’t a sad story, this a happy story about the ridiculousness of humans and the way we love things. We built a little robot and called it Curiosity and flung it into the star to go and explore places we can’t get to because it’s name is in our nature and then just because we could, we taught it how to sing.

That’s not sad, that’s awesome.

*this is different from the first song ever played on mars (Reach For The Stars by Will.I.Am) which happened the year before, singing is different from playing

URGENT! DO YOU WANT TO HELP THE SOUTHERN RESIDENTS? PLEASE HELP US WRITE, CALL AND TEXT!

A lawsuit, National Wildlife Federation vs National Marine Fisheries Service, may finally determine the fate of the 4 Lower Snake River Dams, the salmon who spawn there and the remaining 75 Southern Resident Orca who desperately need salmon to survive.

Biden needs to know that we want those dams breached. He's broken enough of his climate promises - let him know that, and the extinction of these amazing animals, isn't an option!

Public comment is also being sought on the matter. Please visit our page, BidenBreachNow, for talking points, social media shareables, and extensive information about why the dams need to go.
This is a critical time. Please call, text, write or email, every day if you can, until August 31st. Even if you already have acted and/or shared, please do it again. Please keep sharing because every voice counts!

The Snake River was once one of the top salmon rivers in the world. That is sadly no longer the case. Four deadbeat dams on the Lower Snake River have cost an estimated 8 to 9 billion dollars in failed salmon recovery attempts - taxpayer money! - and they lose millions more every year generating unstorable surplus energy. What they do sell is often sold at a loss.

The dams continue to get older and costlier to maintain, while solar and wind energy have replaced their power output; energy efficiency alone has done the same seven times over.

These dams aren't even clean energy! Their reservoirs emit huge amounts of methane, which contributes to the climate crisis.

Please help spread this if you can, and join in. We have a real chance here to get this done - so let's do it.

As the late and great Ken Balcomb said: "We're at a point in history where we need to wake up to what we have to consider: do we want whales, or not?"

He never stopped fighting for the Southern Residents, and neither should we.

I want to start this by saying that I've been very lucky this past week. A dear family member actually paid for me to stay in a motel for a full week (which costs the same as six nights when paid up front, but I can never do myself as I can only pay piecemeal). As a result, I'm feeling the best physically that I have in a year--and mentally, I've experienced a peace of mind (not having to worry 'what next' every couple of days) like I haven't known since early June 2022. I know I've been blessed, and as I prepare to move out tomorrow, I am tremendously grateful.

However, I've only got $23 to last until Friday to cover food & gasoline, and my gas gauge is hovering a tick above empty. In order to get to work this week, I'll have to go hungry most days. I can probably get a loaf of bread & jar of peanut butter to get me through, but I'd be eternally grateful if anyone can send even a few dollars my way.💗 Reblogs would be deeply appreciated as well.💙

As always, thank you for your understanding, prayers, and unflagging support!🥰
